Merrimack River Greenway Trail
Welcome!
Welcome to our page. We invite you to look around and learn more about the Merrimack River Greenway Trail (fondly called the MRGT). Here, you can find out more about the project itself, the history and our accomplishments so far. Equally important, you can find out how you can support this community-wide project. If you're not familiar with the concept of the Merrimack River Greenway Trail, this is where you can learn about it.
Let's start with what we're trying to do:
Our Mission
To develop and promote a continuous, off-street paved trail in Concord, NH, following the Merrimack River from Pembroke to Boscawen.
The trail is intended to be a 4-season paved “shared use” facility that will serve bicyclists, pedestrians, skiers, snowshoers and other non-motorized users. To the extent practicable, it will be universally accessible to people of all mobility abilities.
The trail will-
-
Serve transportation and recreation purposes,
-
Connect villages,
-
Provide access to the Merrimack River and adjacent open space,
-
Provide safe and inviting health and fitness opportunities,
-
Connect with other built and planned trails, such as the Granite State Rail Trail, the Northern Rail Trail and the Concord-Lake Sunapee Rail Trail.
