Giving Tuesday Campaign, 2022

In late 2020, the cost of constructing a 3/4-mile station of the MRGT was estimated to be $550,000.  In November 2021, the City of Concord received a $275,000 grant from the federal Land and Water Conservation Fund, which needs to be matched dollar for dollar.

At that time, we set out to raise $275,000 to match the grant before the end of 2023.  Since then, the construction cost estimate has gone from $550,000 to $560,000.  So we have had to add $10,000 to our present goal of $285,000.

Since 2021, Friends of the MRGT has raised $82,500, which has been set aside for this project.

The 2022 Giving Tuesday Campaign is the third phase of a larger fundraising campaign, called "Cross the Cornfields".

  • Purpose: Money raised through this campaign will be leveraged to match a federal grant.  Each dollar donated will build two dollars worth of trail!
