Update on the Pan Am Purchase
Thank you to all the supporters who attended the State hearing on October 4th in Concord. Over 40 people showed their support as we filled the room. Five individual citizens took their turn at the microphone along with Sen. Dan Feltes from the Concord area, representatives from the City of Concord, the Merrimack River Greenway Trail, the Bike Walk Alliance, the Kimball Jenkins Estate, the NH Bike Coalition and Transport NH.
Each speaker told the Committee what it would mean to the Concord area for year round recreation, economic development, community development to attract people to live in the area, health benefits, public safety, historical significance, tourism, promoting alternative transportation and appreciating the wonderful natural resources that draw us to live in the Granite State.
Additionally, we presented a copy of the Petition to the Committee. Over 1700 people have signed either the online or paper copy expressing their support for the purchase of the Pan Am section from Concord to the Northern Rail Trail.
