On June 14, the Concord City Council will hold a public hearing to help decide whether to appropriate $600,000 to purchase 5.68 miles of the abandoned Northern Line Railroad right of way in Concord.   This is the first step in building the 6.7-mile long rail trail portion of the Merrimack River Greenway Trail, from Penacook to downtown Concord.

Also included in the $700,000 purchase is $100,000 for a 0.5-mile section of the Concord-Claremont Rail Line for the Concord-Lake Sunapee Rail Trail.  Your signature will support both trails!

The purpose of the petition is to show members of the Concord City Council how much public support there is for rail trails, without swamping the public hearing with speakers.  By signing this petition, we will convey your support to the Council for you.

You don't need to be a resident of Concord to sign.  We will segregate the list of signers into Concord residents and nonresidents, and we will deliver it to the Concord City Council in time for its public hearing on June 14.

After you hit the "Submit" button, you will get an email to confirm it's you.  You must click on "Confirm Subscription" in that email to register your signature.
